Day 9 – Weekly outlook

It will be a cloudy day for many across the UK with the best of any sunshine in the east. It will remain dry in most areas, but rain will arrive in the West later.

Monday 9 October—Sunday 15 October
More settled but not for long

High pressure centred over more southern parts of the British Isles is expected to build northwards to give a drier few days with some sunshine. There will also be chilly nights with clear skies and lighter winds allowing temperatures to fall sharply leading to a touch of frost in rural locations. There is also a risk of overnight mist and fog which will be slow to clear. Daytime temperatures will remain close to normal.
At this stage it does look as though the settled weather will not last for long with areas of low pressure expected to push in from the Atlantic bringing outbreaks of rain and strengthening winds during the second half of the week and into the weekend.
